Check If a Windows Disk Uses MBR or GPT Partition Style
One PowerShell command to see the partition table style (MBR or GPT) of every drive in your PC.
01Command
$ Get-Disk | Select-Object Number, FriendlyName, PartitionStyle, Size02What it does
Before installing a second OS, upgrading from BIOS to UEFI boot, or converting a disk, you need to know whether the drive is partitioned as MBR (older style, max 2 TB) or GPT (modern style required by 64-bit Windows 11). Disk Management can show this, but a single PowerShell query gives every disk at once. The PartitionStyle property tells you exactly which table each disk uses, and the command changes nothing on the drive.
