Run v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --list-ctrls to see supported controls, then v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --set-ctrl=brightness=150 to set one.

01Command

Command
$ v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --set-ctrl=brightness=150

02What it does

v4l2-ctl from the v4l-utils package talks directly to the V4L2 driver layer, exposing controls that GUI camera apps often hide, such as exposure, white balance, pan/tilt and digital zoom. --list-ctrls shows each control's range, default and current value, and --set-ctrl changes it live. This is the fix when a video call looks too dark and the app offers no adjustment.
