Jump Between Folders With zoxide
Track visited directories and jump to them by typing a fragment.
Add eval "$(zoxide init zsh)" to your shell profile, then type z <fragment> to jump.
01Command
Command
$ eval "$(zoxide init zsh)"
z proj02What it does
zoxide remembers which directories you visit most and ranks them, so z proj can take you straight to ~/code/project. Initialize it once per shell in ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc, then use z instead of cd for fuzzy jumps. Use zi for an interactive picker.
03Risk
!Warning: The first run after setup has no history; visit directories normally and the ranking builds up.
04Undo
✓No undo needed — this command does not change persistent state.
