Log Into a Remote Machine with ssh on macOS
Use the built-in ssh client to open a secure shell on another Mac, Linux box or server.
01Command
$ ssh admin@192.168.1.2002What it does
macOS ships the OpenSSH client, so no installation is needed: `ssh user@host` opens an encrypted shell where every command runs on the remote machine. The destination syntax user@hostname covers IP addresses, hostnames or entries from ~/.ssh/config; -p selects a custom port. To be reachable yourself, enable Remote Login on the target Mac (System Settings > General > Sharing) — the same service the ssh client connects to. Keypairs can replace passwords; see ssh-keygen and ssh-add tools.
