Set a Printer to Double-Sided Printing by Default
Make duplex printing the default for any installed printer with Set-PrintConfiguration, so you stop burning single-sided pages.
01Command
$ Set-PrintConfiguration -PrinterName "HP LaserJet" -DuplexingMode TwoSidedLongEdge02What it does
Almost every office printer can print on both sides, but Windows often defaults to one-sided, wasting paper one sheet at a time. Set-PrintConfiguration changes the printer's stored defaults: TwoSidedLongEdge flips pages along the long edge for portrait documents, TwoSidedShortEdge suits landscape. Get-PrintConfiguration -PrinterName shows the current mode first, so you can verify what you are changing.
