Check the Active Proxy Settings with scutil
Print the proxy dictionary macOS is really using — including auto-config (PAC) scripts.
Run `scutil --proxy` to dump the live proxy configuration.
01Command
Command
$ scutil --proxy02What it does
When web pages refuse to load, this shows in one shot whether a proxy is enabled for each service — including PAC auto-config scripts and exclusions that System Settings checkboxes don't summarize. It's a common way to spot leftover proxy settings from VPN or privacy apps that failed to clean up. Compare Enable flags: 1 means on, 0 means off.
03Risk
!Warning: This is read-only; if a stale proxy is listed, clear it in System Settings > Network > your service > Proxies.
04Undo
✓No undo needed — this command does not change persistent state.
