List Installed Configuration Profiles with profiles
See which MDM or manually installed configuration profiles are active and what settings they push.
Run `profiles list` to show installed profiles with identifiers, and `profiles show -identifier <id>` for details.
01Command
Command
$ profiles list -output stdout-xml02What it does
The profiles command is the CLI face of macOS configuration profiles — the same payloads MDM servers install. `profiles list` prints each profile's identifier, UUID, and verification state; `profiles -P` dumps the actual payload keys for debugging what a profile enforces. Company Macs often hide profiles from System Settings, making the CLI the only reliable way to see them.
03Risk
!Warning: MDM-installed profiles may be non-removable, and trying can alert your IT department.
