Check Outdated npm Packages with npm outdated

List every dependency that has a newer version, with the current, safe ('wanted') and latest versions side by side.

Run `npm outdated` in your project folder to see which packages are behind and which versions are available.

01Command

Command
$ npm outdated

02What it does

Before upgrading anything you need to know what is actually stale and how far. npm outdated prints one row per outdated package: Current is what is installed, Wanted is the newest version your semver ranges allow, and Latest is the newest published. Packages already at their 'wanted' version are omitted, so the list is exactly your upgrade backlog — then `npm update` moves everything to Wanted, or `npm install pkg@latest` jumps to Latest deliberately.

03Risk

RequirementsRequires Node.js/npm installed and a package.json in the current folder. Empty output means every package is current.
!Warning: Jumping straight to Latest can pull in breaking major releases; check the changelog or stick to Wanted for a safe path.
