Check Whether a Web Proxy Is Set
Read the current web proxy configuration of a network service with networksetup -getwebproxy.
Run `networksetup -getwebproxy "Wi-Fi"` — Enabled: Yes with a server you don't recognize means something set a proxy; check other services too.

Adware and some 'cleaner' apps redirect browsing by silently enabling a web proxy, which shows up here as an unexpected server with Enabled: Yes. The settings are per network service, so repeat the command for Ethernet or any other service in `networksetup -listallnetworkservices`. Clear an unwanted proxy with `networksetup -setwebproxystate "Wi-Fi" off`.
