Show the Full Network Status of an Interface

Dump IP address, router, DHCP lease and DNS details for a network interface with ipconfig getsummary.

macOSnetworkdhcpipconfigLow risk
Run `ipconfig getsummary en0 | head -30` for a compact summary of the interface's addresses, router and lease info.

01Command

Command
$ ipconfig getsummary en0 | head -30

02What it does

While `ipconfig getifaddr en0` shows just the IP, getsummary dumps everything the DHCP client knows: assigned addresses, router, lease times and DNS — useful when a Mac connects but you suspect a half-broken lease. It also includes the SSID and channel for Wi-Fi interfaces. Pipe through `head` or `grep` because the full output is long.

RequirementsReplace en0 with your active interface (see `networksetup -listallhardwareports`).
