Graphical Ping With gping
Ping several hosts at once and watch latency plotted over time.
Run gping google.com cloudflare.com to graph ping latency for both hosts.
01Command
Command
$ gping google.com cloudflare.com02What it does
gping is ping with a live chart: each host gets a colored line showing round-trip time over time, so intermittent spikes are obvious at a glance. It also supports commands such as curl and TCP pings, and can plot several hosts together.
03Risk
!Warning: Like ping it needs outbound ICMP; some networks block ICMP so results may be empty even when the host is up.
04Undo
✓No undo needed — this command does not change persistent state.
05Sources
- Homebrew formula: gpingEvidence: Packages gping, which draws ping latency as a terminal graph for one or more hosts.
