Find Out Which Services Depend on a Windows Service
Use PowerShell's Get-Service with -DependentServices to see which services would break if you stop a service.
01Command
$ Get-Service -Name LanmanServer -DependentServices | Format-Table Status, Name, DisplayName -AutoSize02What it does
Before disabling or stopping a Windows service, it is wise to know what else relies on it. The -DependentServices parameter of Get-Service lists services whose startup or operation requires the target service. Replace LanmanServer with any service name, or add -RequiredServices to see what the service itself depends on.
