List Installed Updates with Get-HotFix
Enumerate installed Windows hotfixes and KB numbers in PowerShell, sortable by install date.
01Command
$ Get-HotFix | Sort-Object InstalledOn -Descending | Select-Object HotFixID, Description, InstalledOn | Format-Table -AutoSize02What it does
Get-HotFix is a thin wrapper over Win32_QuickFixEngineering and is the quickest scripted answer to 'is KB5031354 installed?' — filter with Get-HotFix -Id KB5031354. Note its blind spots: it lists QFE hotfixes only, not cumulative updates or servicing packages, which are better seen with Windows Update history or DISM /Get-Packages. InstalledOn can be blank for some updates applied before the OS was upgraded.
