Get Your PC's Model and Serial Number from PowerShell
Query Win32_ComputerSystem and Win32_SystemEnclosure to read the manufacturer, model name and chassis serial number without flipping the laptop over.
01Command
$ $cs = Get-CimInstance Win32_ComputerSystem; Get-CimInstance Win32_SystemEnclosure | Select-Object @{n='Model';e={$cs.Manufacturer + ' ' + $cs.Model}}, SerialNumber02What it does
Warranty registration and support calls need the exact model and serial number, which is printed on a small label at the bottom of most laptops. The same values live in WMI: Win32_ComputerSystem carries the manufacturer and model string, and Win32_SystemEnclosure carries the chassis serial number. These are also the values a remote IT department reads to inventory machines, so what you see matches what they ask for.
