Run Get-CimInstance Win32_VideoController to list every GPU with its Name and DriverVersion — use DriverDate as well for a human-readable date.

01Command

Command
$ Get-CimInstance Win32_VideoController | Format-Table Name, DriverVersion, AdapterRAM, VideoModeDescription

02What it does

Whether you are troubleshooting a game that stutters, matching a driver download from NVIDIA/AMD/Intel, or checking whether that two-monitor setup picked the right resolution, Win32_VideoController answers it without opening Device Manager. Each row is one detected adapter: Name gives the chip model, DriverVersion the installed driver, and VideoModeDescription the current resolution and color depth. Laptops typically show two rows (integrated Intel/AMD plus discrete NVIDIA) — that is normal and tells you Optimus/switchable graphics is active. Compare DriverVersion against the vendor's latest before concluding the card is "outdated".

!Warning: AdapterRAM is a 32-bit field that caps at 4 GB and reports wrong values on modern 8 GB+ cards — check VRAM in Task Manager instead.
